Fantastic morning at the NABS Annual President's Breakfast, a charity supporting media professionals. Our MD Charlie Curtis worked on the team which organised the NABS' 7's (est. 54 years ago) for over 10 years. The Rugby 7's ceased last year and the team were given the President's award for their efforts over many years. Team; Charlie Curtis (MD, Moriati Recruitment), Derek Hewitt (Global Radio), Tim McCabe (GTN), Charles Kenny (retired legend of creative media) and Mike Hope (Pearl and Dean). The rugby tournament has now been taken over by an organisation called: Lord's Taverners (The UK's leading youth cricket and disability sports charity), which has been supporting media and is due to expand and grow with the new takeover. There will now be ex-professional rugby players invovled as part of the league, with the opportunity for rugby enthusiasts to particpate against them for a donation fee. There will be professional coaching for children offering a great chance for those who enjoy rugby to partake in a tournament with all the proceeds going towards a variety of children and disabled charities.
