Salary: 70k to 85k depending on experience
As part of the P&U Projects practice, you will play a key role in supporting high-profile assignments across the energy and utilities sector. Projects have included hydrogen business models, nuclear programmes (e.g. Sizewell C, Hinkley Point C, Small Modular Reactors), large-scale water infrastructure (e.g. Thames Tideway Tunnel, Direct Procurement for Customers), offshore transmission projects, and interconnector investments.
What you’ll be doing:
- Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor across infrastructure projects.
- Support the development of proposals, bid writing, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, contributing to the growth of the practice.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across other service lines (e.g. M&A, Tax, Due Diligence) to deliver integrated solutions.
- Contribute to business development activities and thought leadership in the utility’s infrastructure space.
What you’ll need:
- Background in project finance, infrastructure advisory, or financial consulting.
- Proficiency in developing or reviewing financial models (e.g. PFI, RAB-based models).
- Knowledge of alternative funding mechanisms such as CfD, RAB, PPA, PF2.
- Understanding of financing structures, contract terms (e.g. NEC4), and risk allocation in infrastructure projects.
- Awareness of the UK regulatory landscape in water, energy networks, or nuclear sectors.
- Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and report writing.
- Ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities, and to build lasting relationships with clients, investors, and regulators.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Business (or equivalent).
- Professional qualification (ACA, CFA, CIMA) or equivalent experience preferred.
