The Corporate Finance Advisory team sits at the heart of the P&U practice, delivering independent debt and credit rating advice to CFOs and treasurers. With expertise at the intersection of policy, regulation, and finance, the team provides clients with insights that go beyond traditional corporate finance advisory.
Recent projects have included:
- Assessing equity requirements for water companies
- Advising on utility bond benchmarks
- Supporting first-time credit ratings for European energy networks
- Financing large-scale infrastructure projects
- Providing regulatory finance ability assessments in water and energy
The Role:
- Building financial and credit rating models to support client decision-making
- Evaluating financing options for complex infrastructure projects
- Conducting bespoke financial and regulatory analyses
- Preparing client reports, board papers, and presentations
- Keeping up to date with market trends impacting debt and credit markets
- Supporting business development and nurturing client relationships
What We’re Looking For:
- Several years’ experience in debt advisory, debt capital markets, credit ratings, or corporate treasury (experience may be gained at a bank, boutique advisory firm, rating agency, or corporate treasury function)
- Strong grounding in corporate finance theory
- Knowledge of key credit concepts and financial structures
- Excellent financial modelling, written, and verbal communication skills
- Enthusiasm for the regulated infrastructure and utilities sector (prior sector experience is an advantage but not essential)
- Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CFA are desirable
